How to Buy Nano with Visa/Maestro
Introduction
Cryptocurrencies are traded on digital exchanges such as Binance, Coinfalcon & Kucoin which allow you to buy Nano. However, linking your bank account with an exchange can be a difficult process and depend on the regulations of the country that you reside in. If you have a Credit/Debit card we recommended you to first register an account on Coinbase and then purchase Ethereum (ETH) as temporary currency in order to exchange for Nano on Binance. Below Step-by-Step guide will explain you how to buy Nano in more detail. This guide will present you images of each step and also guide you on safety best-practices.
Step 1
Binance Registration
Head over to Binance by clicking here and click on the top right-hand side “Register” tab as seen in below image. This will redirect you to Binance registration page.

Enter your email, secure password, repeat password, agree to the terms and click “Register”.

You will be prompted by a small puzzle which you need to slide into its slot to confirm you are human. After solving the puzzle you will be sent a verification email.

Verify the email by clicking “Verify Email” in your inbox. (e.g. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo etc.)

After clicking “Verify Email” you will be notified “Activation Successful” then click “Login” to be redirected to Binance login form and fill in your details. While logging in you will need to solve another round of slide-puzzle verifying you are human.

After your first successful login you will be prompted by a safety check box in which you need to tick the security checks (tick-boxes) and click “I Understand, Continue”.

Once you have completed the safety check you will be notified to set up “2 Factor Authentication” (2FA). Here select “SMS” and add your SIM/Phone number so that Binance can send you a verification code. This will add another security layer preventing suspicious login attempts. Once verified you should be logged in. Follow step 2.

Step 2
Copy Binance Deposit Address
From your Binance account navigate to the top right-hand side “Funds” dropdown menu and select the “Deposits” tab as shown below.

Under the “Deposit” label click on the “Select Deposit Coin” drop list and type “eth” to filter Ethereum. Now click on “ETH – Ethereum” which will reveal your “ETH Deposit Address”.

Next up, copy the Ethereum (ETH) Deposit Address by clicking on the “Copy Address” button. Hang onto the address and follow step 3.

Step 3
Coinbase Registration
Next up, register a Coinbase account by clicking here. The screen will notify you that I invited you (“Joe Tot”). This will get you 10 USD (7 GBP) as a bonus if you invest a minimum of 100 USD (74 GBP). Using the form enter your first name, last name, email address and choose a secure password. You must verify that you are not a robot by ticking the “I’m Not a Robot” tick-box and “certify” that you are over 18 years, then click “Sign Up”.

Coinbase will now send you a verification email which you need to verify by clicking “Verify Email Address” in your inbox (e.g. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo etc.).

You will now need to provide your SIM/Phone number which Coinbase will use to send a verification code (message). Once you entered your SIM/Phone number click on “Send Code”.

Now, enter the verification code sent to your SIM/Phone (message) into the verification box and click “Verify”. You should now have access to your Coinbase dashboard.

Step 4
Add Credit/Debit Card
Next up, from the Coinbase dashboard navigate to the “Buy/Sell” tab on the top left-hand side and click “Add a Payment Method”. Then proceed by clicking on the add “Credit/Debit” card option.

You will now have to provide one of the following ID’s: Passport, Driver’s Licence or Photo ID. Click on a document that you have at hand and take a picture of the front and back of the ID (using webcam or your phone). After uploading Coinbase will use automated ID recognition which should take less than a minute. If you run into problems follow this Coinbase Guide.

After successfully verifying your ID you will be able to link your Credit/Debit card. Do this by navigating from the Coinbase dashboard to the “Buy/Sell” tab (if you are not already there) and click “Add Payment Method” to add your Credit/Debit card.

Enter your billing address and click “Add Billing Address” which will bring you to the Credit/Debit card details form. Once you have filled in your card details click “Add Card” which will be securely processed by Coinbase.

Step 5
Send Ethereum
You can now buy Ethereum (ETH) which you will use to exchange for Nano on Binance. Reason we choose Ethereum is that it has less transaction costs and faster transactions per second (tps) when compared to Bitcoin. To purchase Ethereum (ETH) head back to the “Buy/Sell” tab (if you are not already there) and click on the “Ethereum” tab. Enter the amount you would like to purchase and click on “Buy Ethereum Instantly”.

Next up, you will need to send your Ethereum (ETH) from Coinbase to Binance. Do this by navigating from the Coinbase “Dashboard” to the “Accounts” tab where you will see your Ethereum (ETH) wallet and funds.

Click on the “Send” button (under the funds section) and paste your Binance Ethereum deposit address you copied earlier in step 2 into the “Recipient” box. Specify the amount you would like to send and click “Continue”.

You will now be prompted by a security notice asking you to confirm your send request. Enter the verification code sent to your Phone/SIM (message) and click “confirm”. After you sent the transaction, your Ethereum will be broadcast to the Blockchain network. Since it is being cryptographically verified it can take between 4-7 minutes depending on Ethereum’s Network Status and the number of network confirmations required by Binance (e.g. 25 x 16 = ~400 sec. or 6 min.). Follow step 6 for further instructions.

Step 6
Buy Nano
While your Ethereum (ETH) transaction is being processed head back to Binance and review your Ethereum “Deposits” account by clicking on the “Deposits” tab accessible through the right-hand side “Funds” dropdown menu.

Type “eth” into the search box and select “ETH – Ethereum” from the drop list to access your Ethereum (ETH) deposits account. You should see that your funds are currently being processed or already delivered (If not wait couple of minutes).

Once the transaction is deposited hover over the “Exchange” menu on the top left-hand side and click on “Basic” from the dropdown menu. You will be redirected to the live market which enables you to exchange your Ethereum (ETH) to Nano.

Next, choose the “ETH” pair on the right-hand side ticker (yellow highlight) and type “nano” into the search box to filter the Nano/ETH exchange pair, then click on “NANO/ETH”.

Scroll down and select the “market” tab from the middle of the page as shown in below image. This will allow you to execute a real-time trade based on the current market value of Nano.

Select the amount of Nano you want to buy using Ethereum (ETH) by using the percentage allocation buttons (e.g. 100% will exchange all your Ethereum “ETH” to Nano). Once specified click the “Buy Nano” button to execute the order. Congratulations you purchased Nano!

To check your balance navigate to the top right-hand side “Funds” drop-down and click on the “Balances” tab. Now, under the “Balances” label enter “nano” into the search box to filter Nano and related account data. You will see your total balance now.

Next Steps
Store Nano Safely
The storage of your Nano depends on your situation. If you decide to trade short term (day trading) you can leave your Nano on Binance for further trading. However, if you decide to use Nano for personal or business transactions we recommend storing your nano in a desktop/mobile wallet. If you decide to HODL (long term investment) than we recommend storing Nano using offline cold storage as this would be the most secure option. Depending on your situation you may find following guides useful:
- Online Wallet Storage | Intermediary Security | Good for occasional transactions
- Desktop/Mobile Storage | Advanced Security | Good for day to day transactions
- Offline Cold Storage | Most Secure | Good for long term Investment
